Grassroots Giving 2017

Apply for funding

Applications now closed

Applications for Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving community funding scheme have now closed for 2017  and the winners have been chosen – this year we have a total fund of £82,000 to help small groups and organisations make a difference in their neighbourhood.

164 groups have received funding of £500 to help them build a brighter future in their local communities. Last year, our 163 deserving winners shared a total fund of £81,500, and they are now enjoying spending the money in their area, with communities all over the country reaping the benefits.

This year, hundreds of community groups, clubs and organisations from across the UK applied to Grassroots Giving and a record 40,000 votes were cast online and in Skipton’s branches by the public.

Grassroots Giving was launched in 2013 to celebrate the Society’s 160th anniversary and proved an immediate success. It was designed to reflect our mutual roots and established to help people and communities to help themselves.
