Outside-iN‘s vision is to live in a society without prejudice where individuals with ADHD and ASC and their families are understood and supported; where their voices are heard, respected, listened to and valued, and where difference is celebrated not feared.
Outside-iN is a community interest company dedicated to supporting and educating families, adults and professionals living with or working with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated conditions. ADHD and ASC are complex, often hidden, spectrum conditions. Our specialist team of professionals are unique in that they all also have first-hand knowledge through living with, or being closely related to, someone with ADHD and/or ASC.
Committed to providing the right intervention to families, we believe that the best outcomes for those with ADHD and/or ASC are achieved when parents, professionals and young people work together to fully understand the perspective of the person with the condition.
In order for young people to thrive and reach their full potential, it is important that parent/carers are equipped to become their child’s most knowledgeable expert and advocate.
Outside-In started as a local support group in 2009, with 6 members and 2 volunteer leaders who met monthly in a local school.
The need for support services was such that the organisation grew rapidly and now has one full time paid co-coordinator, two part time support employees and a cadre of 10 dedicated volunteers.
We offer support and training to children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Attention Deficit & Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
How would this funding have an impact on your community?
We are based in a Government funded community services building in central Bedfordshire, which we have used on a low rent basis since 2011. This funding will help us to pay the rent on our offices for the next year. This will means we can continue to host training courses for parents and professionals, support groups for parents and young people and offer parents coaching in a purpose built environment.
""Without the support of organisations like The Skipton Building Society, we simply could not continue to provide the services that we offer to children and young people who have these conditions., services which are essential to help them maximise their full potential."
