Old Northamptonians RFC

Your story

A grass roots community rugby club offering rugby for men, women, boys and girls.

Group introduction

A grass roots community rugby club offering rugby for senior men (4 teams), an academy (16-18) and over 300 boys and girls aged between 5 and 15 on a Sunday morning. Set up in 1923 as a place for former pupils of Northampton Grammar school to return and play rugby. The club is ran by volunteers made up of former players and parents of current and former players.

How would this funding have an impact on your community?

The funding could be used in an endless number of ways from replacing equipment that is heavily used - whether it be a rugby Velcro "tag" used by a 5 year old or a tackle bag used by a 35 year old.. naturally, a sports ground used by up to 500 people over the course needs plenty of regular maintenance (a good amount of which is done by volunteers) so the money could also be used for grass seed or paint to repaint the posts.

""We are so thankful to Skipton's Grassroots Giving initiative for the generous donation of £500. It will be used to benefit many areas of our community rugby club" Warren Brew, Chairman"
