Bingham Cricket Club

Bingham

Your story

Bingham Cricket Club is a key sporting club in the Bingham and Vale of Belvoir area offering the opportunity for adults and juniors (boys and girls) to enjoy playing cricket at all levels in a safe, secure and well organised environment.

Group introduction

Bingham Cricket Club was formed in 1787 and is one of the oldest Cricket Clubs in the country – something that we are very proud of; we are committed to ensuring that the club continues to grow and develop young players in Bingham and the local area. We are entirely voluntarily run with a committee of 12 plus 8 junior coaches.

How would this funding have an impact on your community?

We have recently received a commitment from the England Cricket Board (ECB) to fund 55% of the cost of new vandal proof cricket covers. Unfortunately we are in dire need of these due to our existing covers being worn and vandalized. The covers will cost £7700 and the ECB have offered us £4000 support through the England and Wales Cricket Trust (EWCT) Small Grant Scheme which means we are looking for £3700 matched funding from corporate supporters. Without the covers the club cannot continue to play adult and junior cricket.
