Ely Netball Club
Ely Netball Club promotes the sport of amateur netball to women of all ages and abilities, offering a safe and welcoming environment for members of the local community.
Ely Netball Club was set up in 2003 and is run by a small committee of volunteer members. The club is open to women over the age of 18 of all sporting abilities, allowing them to take part in a social and fun activity.
How would this funding have an impact on your community?
Ely Netball Club recently held a successful Back to Netball course which has attracted an additional 34 members. This has increased the Club to five competitive teams and a membership of over 50 women. The funding would help towards the cost of court hire fees and general equipment (balls and bibs) enabling us to cope with the increased number. Local women will now have a safe environment in which to be active and healthy.
"It's wonderful to see so many women active in netball, especially those who are returning after having had a break for some years! One new player was sad she had to miss a session due to holiday, something she never thought she would say about sport.
