Killamarsh leisure centre

Your story

Killamarsh over 60s goes from strength to strength caring in the community.

Group introduction

I am Brenda Wooding, secretary, and have been since January 2016, when the previous secretary retired after 20 years,
I have 4 committee helpers and we meet on a Monday.
We provide a social afternoon, as some of our members don't get out very often and it enables them to interact with people of their own age where they play bingo and dominoes and we have a raffle to provide much needed funds. Mid afternoon we serve tea and cakes.
We have days out at the seaside and market days and also social afternoons where we provide a meal and entertainment. At Christmas we have a Christmas party and also we go for a Christmas lunch.
We are providing a much needed service for Killamarsh and surrounding areas.

How would this funding have an impact on your community?

It would help to keep the group going and to carry on providing a vital lifeline for older people in our area. As a coach can cost in the region of £500 it would be a good help towards another day out.

"Brenda and team providing a vital service for the elderly."
